Customer Support > Frequently Asked Questions > How much does a Bitcoin ATM charge?
We apply a 12% markup rate for all Bitcoin ATM and Teller Window transactions at the time of the customer's purchase. DigitalMint’s markup rate is inline with rates across the Bitcoin ATM industry*.
Visit our Rates page to learn more about our Bitcoin daily buy limit and use our ATM fee calculator to see how much it costs to buy 1 Bitcoin at one of our locations.
Our markup rate is based on the Bitcoin Average Index, which is a market-cap weighted index comprised of the major Bitcoin exchanges such as Bitstamp, Bitfinex, and other major marketplaces. The DigitalMint customer is being charged a mark-up above this index at the time of sale. For example, if we are using a 10% mark-up fee and the current price of the index is $400, this means that our Bitcoin sell rate will be at $440. Bitcoin is divisible to the 8th decimal point so a customer can purchase very small fractions of Bitcoin, as low as $1 at our machines. Based on current volatility these markup rates are subject to change.
